I may never make #1 Honor Roll but at least I know, for the ones I have, I worked them and not my computer.

Tower at Sunset  I was first licensed in 1980 as KA6MNZ and immediately upgraded and received the call N6DHZ. In 1988, I bought a used Kenwood TS-820 and a Create V-Dipole for 10,15,20,40 meters. Then it happened: 0414Z March 03, 1989 I made my first HF contact with VK4FNQ and, according to my XYL Linda, it has been downhill ever since. I now spend most of my radio time chasing DX in search of the elusive "all-time new one".

For many years I was limited to an Cushcraft R5 vertical and wire dipoles for 40 and 80 meters. In 2015, we moved to Arizona and it took a few years to get the house built - and get to the antenna projects - but in June 2019, I was finally back on the air with a Force 12 C3S at 55ft for 10,15,20 meters, Force 12 EF-140S at 65ft for 40 meters and a wire dipole at 52ft for 80 meters. With the help of a good tuner, I can manage on 12, 17, and 30 meters. I do have future plans for another tower and better antennas for 40 and 80 meters along with antennas for 12, 17, and 30 meters.

I'm a member member of the Northern Arizona DX Association, Central Arizona DX Association, Yavapai Amateur Radio Club, and the Mingus Mountain Repeater Group and member and past President of the Southern California DX Club and currently their Webmaster. I was honored to receive the SCDXC DXer of the Year award for 2007. In 2005, I became involved in the International DX Convention when I was asked to create the first convention website. I continue to do the website on even-numbered years when the SCDXC hosts the convention.

I started The DX Store in 2005. We began by specializing in amateur equipment aimed at DXers and contesters, but we have grown rapidly and have expanded our lines to include more general amateur equipment. We carry Heil Sound, Comet, Create, Daiwa, RigExpert, Anderson PowerPole, Larsen, Lido Mounts, Davis RF, Times Microwave, Belden, Davis RF, Synthetic Textiles Inc.(STI), Bird, Morgan Systems, PolyPhaser, Samlex and many others. We have booths at several conventions and Hamfests throughout the year and are trying to expand the number of conventions we do each year. Give us a call at 866-899-DXIS (3947)
